Earth Day Project

Yesterday we went to the Diamond Fork Campgrounds to help with an Earth Day project. We had to plant 3 dif kind of trees; big tooth maple, ponderosa pine, & douglas fir. We had to dig holes a tiny bit bigger than the height of the plant. Normally it would not have been so bad but the ground was full of rocks it took forever to dig each hole, especially the maple which was the biggest pain in the butt, lol

While we were there we were interviewed for the Provo newspaper. You can see the story by clicking here. The also took a bunch of pics but the do not show them online so we will have to buy the paper to see if our lovely faces made it. Madi is kind of bummed because she had a really good reason why we were there helping out & her quote did not make the story. She said "we are helping plant trees to make the community a better place" The reporter was impressed with her answer but it still did not make the final cut. Oh well we did not help out to be in the paper!

Here are some pics I took. Stupid me forgot my camera so these are all taken with my cell phone but I think they turned out pretty good.

Madi, Paul & Aidyn standing on the bridge while we waited to start. Notice there is still patches of snow in the background but it was really warm while we worked, in the 70's
Paul digging a hole.
Madi posing for a pic with her shovel
Aidyn helping Paul dig the hole. You can kind of see how rocky the ground was
