Yesterday Madi & Shae were playing 4 square & Shae hit the ball really hard right at Madi's hand. Her pinkie ended up hyper extending & going all the way back to her hand. Talk about painful! I thought she just sprained it but the pain was not going away for her so we took her to an instacare this evening. Turns out she has a hairline fracture at the base of her pinkie, extending up towards her wrist. The doctor who saw it thinks it is not too bad but wants the radiologist to take a look at it just to make sure. If the fracture is any longer, they will have to cast it. Madi actually wants a cast because she wants some excitement in her life, LOL
For the next 2 weeks she has to wear the splint and not move her pinkie at all. The really hard part is it is on her left hand & we all know Madi is a lefty. Hopefully she will get used to not using it as much very soon.
