Yesterday Madi saw the ENT doctor & he agrees that she definitely needs her tonsills out but her adenoids also bad so they are coming out. The surgery is scheduled for December 19th which is the Friday before Christmas. That date is good and bad. Good because she will have all of Christmas break to recover but bad because she will probably still be in pain on Christmas. I am hoping opening gifts will make her forget about the pain, lol

So is everyone ready for Thanksgiving? I am & cannot wait for it! Since we have no family here in UT, we are having it with some friends. It will be lots of people, food and fun! I am in charge of making homemade stuffing, the potatoes & cranberry sauce. I am thinking of trying a new cranberry recipe but I am not sure. Sometimes it is better to stick with what you know and NOT try new things in case they do not turn out right On the other hand, I always try at least one new recipe every holiday so who knows what I will do. I actually told Madi she could "make" it but with my help of course. She loves watching for the berries to "pop" and mashing it all together to make it smooth. I think I might make 2 batches. One with my old stand by recipe and a new one. I will let you know how it turns out.

I think the reason I love thanksgiving so much is because it means Christmas is almost here. The day after is my all time favorite day of the year & I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE going shopping for all the black Friday sales. Unfortunately this year it will not be happening. We do not have enough extra money to justify braving the crowds. However I might get a few things tomorrow morning at Kmart. They usually have some pretty good thanksgiving day sales.

Another reason I love Friday is because that is when I put up all my Christmas decorations. On a normal year I would go shopping really early, come home and wrap all the gifts, put up the tree, decorate the house & then that night go to our towns festival of lights. It is how I kick of the holiday season and has been tradition for years now. Not shopping just means I will get to sleep in but can still do everything else like normal. Well except for wrapping gifts. I do have a few things bought for the kids already but I might wait to put them under the tree.
