Mother/daughter night at Madi's school

Last night was the mother/daughter activiety at the kids school. I personally did not want to go because I have tons of homework that needs to get done but Madi was excited & of course I could not let her down. The PTA always picks themes & this time it was a beach theme.

Madi's oldkindergarten teacher taught everyone a hula dance & I am sure I looked like a complete fool trying to get the hang of it. Buy hey at least I looked better than some moms who should have given up a long time ago. I was smart enough to quit before I embarassed myself & Madi even further. On the other hand Madi did great & looked like she had been doing it for years.

After the dance, we went on to make flowers out of tissue paper. Sounds easy enough right? Wrong! These stupid things were so complicated & honestly more trouble than there were worth. I sat down next to one of my friends while Madi ran off with her friends to play beach volleyball. After about 5 tries I finally figured out how to get 1 flower done & called it quits.

Next we got our tropical treats which turned out to be sherbert with a fancy little umbrella stuck in. Actually everything looks more appealing with a fancy cup decoration. Maybe that's why I always order the foo foo chick drinks at bars? lol

The last stop was to get our picture taken. The line was sooooooooooooo LONG! We seriously waited for at least 30 minutes while other moms & daughers posed in front of cute beach scenes. Thankfully once it was our turn we were all done. The camera lady even let me sneak in a pic of Madi with my personal camera since I had already bought one of theirs. (cross your fingers it turns out because we don't get to preview it but my friend Bobby K said we looked cute)

Now that the mother/daughter activity is done with we only have the end of the year carnival to look forward to. Maybe the kids won't want to go?
This is the pic the professional photographer let me sneak in
